Chinese New Year

Apologies everyone for the lack of postings in the last few days. I'm currently enjoying the Chinese New Year celebration here in Malaysia. My days have been filled with meeting up with family, friends, house visits, eating, drinking, and more eating, gambling and collecting ang pows too! Ang pows are red envelopes containing money given out by the married couples to the unmarried ones. Been lucky at the gambling table too, won some money unlike the past few years - I sense 2012 is going to be a fantabulous one!

Yee Sang - a prosperity dish only available during Chinese New Year

We had visited some friends who had organized a Chinese New Year street party. Lion dance performers were hired as part of the entertainment.

On the third day of Chinese New Year, we made a trip out of Kuala Lumpur city to visit mom's family who are based in Taiping. The 3 hour drive was smooth and it was lovely seeing the relatives again, many whom I have not seen for a couple of years now. Taiping is very different from Kuala Lumpur, everything moves at a slower pace, life is much simpler there.

Am under the weather now, need to recharge as it's going to be a full on week! Will be off for a short beach getaway with an amazing friend on a project, till the next time bye!!
